Sketch Evolution and its partners use integrated lasers and theatrical illumination technology to transform Sydney’s Skyline into the abstract world of Filament Storm.
The creative fusing of lighting and lasers, orchestrates the characteristics of a tempest; the gentle eye with its abstract beauty to the ring of violent chaos. Alongside this, sit moments of fun motifs and characters that float across the canvas of buildings.
Filament Storm can be viewed from a variety of vantage points, providing contrasting experiences and interpretations of the show. The storm covers the “Dress Circle” of buildings in the Circular Quay area to become the stage for the installation and the backdrop for Vivid Sydney 2014.
The coming together of some of Sydney’s best creative and technology companies has made the installation possible.
New technology from the Production Resource Group (Australia) illuminates the buildings and programs the integrated installation. Oracle Attractions employ innovative laser technologies and creative techniques, achieving stunning projections. Tri-Point Rigging Services have provided all infrastructure and rigging for the installation.
Filament Storm will surprise, entertain and inspire.
