Charles has extensive experience across a wide range of live creative mediums, always valuing artistic and technical excellence.
Starting in theatre production and performing as a young orchestral musician, Charles now predominantly works in technical direction, production and operations management and design in Australia and overseas with a focus as a producer through Sketch Evolution.
Charles’ career spans musical theatre, mega-events, corporate events, government projects, arts organisations and experiential strategy.
The companies he has worked for include Opera Australia, Global Creatures, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Really Useful Group, Legs On The Wall, Cre8ion, City of Sydney New Year’s Eve, ACT Government, Destination NSW, Sydney Chamber Opera, Sydney Festival, Sydney Theatre Company, Bangarra Dance Theatre, Belvoir Street Theatre, Arts Radar, Sydney Dance Company, Sitanchi Event Company, AGB Events, Performance Space and the Pinchgut Opera Company.
A graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), with a Bachelor of Dramatic Art in Production, Charles prides himself on being able to speak both the creative and technical languages, communicating through a wide range of technologies. He has the skills to see the big picture and liaise with a variety of stakeholders in producing and delivery. Charles relishes attention to detail in all parts of the process and enjoys managing detailed budgets.
In delivering any project, Charles always puts the creative concept first and maintaining harmony in producing delivery.
